It is a beautiful old Cape Dutch Hotel. The staff there make your stay worthwhile, they are so happy and friendly.

Staff were excellent, service really good and breakfast excellent. I have been a visitor to this establishment, as have numerous colleagues with UCT connections, on a regular basis for about 20 years and remember the days when it was known as the Courtyard.

What a BONUS to stay at this place! It's like being on holiday in a big historical beautiful green park landscape and on the other hand only 12 minutes to the Waterfront town centre easy accessible via the highway. The Breakfast was fulfilling all our wishes until 10h30 - excellent coffee as well as slow jazz music - and the staff was incredible kind and helpful at any time. Normally I am a down town girl, but with my daughter (8) I wanted a more spacious room with a nice pool and easy parking - and we felt throughout our stay very safe, pampered and splendid. We stayed 7 nights and could stay longer. Total recommendation. Comfort and freedom for an affordable price. Thank you.

The rooms were fresh, modern and comfortable and the staff were friendly and presentable. The variety of foods available for breakfast was exciting. All fresh and delicious. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay at Protea Hotel Mowbray, we were pleasantly surprised by the rooms and presentation of the breakfast, and the option to have dinner at The Fig Tree, was so convenient, we definitely recommend this Hotel.

Breakfasts here have a nice variety and good quality. Just the frying of the eggs was quite greasy. It is all personally done and variety of things to eat with the eggs is great. The bread is reduced to just toast bread. It should include some whole wheat -Spelt bread or other varieties. The staff are super helpful and very friendly.

Met all of the standards I expected. Staff went over and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Clean and hospitable. Breakfast was good, chefs friendly and fresh food available every morning. Royston from the restaurant ensured we were taken care of each day at breakfast. Audrey from house keeping kept our rooms sparkly clean. We loved the team at the hotel, extremely friendly people.

It was a last minute booking for us and we couldnt have gotten any better place than this. This trip was inline with visiting my university (UCT) so location wise it was bang on as I was quite familiar with the area. We had a car rental so getting in and out wasn't a problem for us and infact was appreciated given that the area is known to be quite crowded but this hotel had its own secluded spot from the moment you turned off the main road. Other than the location, the service was exceptional from the reception to the restaurant to the cleaning staff and the garden they had in the middle was nice to chill out to when we had to get work done.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. The daily servicing of the rooms was beyond satisfactory. I did not manage to get two rooms alongside each other although I had requested it way in advance. But I managed to arrange a room for my aged mom just one door away from me. Breakfasts were lovely. It was halaal friendly but it is a pity that the protea hotels cannot be certified halaal. We kept away from the meat products altogether as a precaution of cross contamination. The location was very central and away from the hustle and bustle of the festive season chaos.

Although my room was very clean, as someone who is nearly 60,I found it a bit of a drag having to climb the stairs to the bedroom and bathroom every time. Breakfast was good, with a lot of cold options. The waiting staff, especially a man named Blessings, were great.
